Christo and Jeanne-Claude
by alicedoolittle
We are huge fans of the artists Christo and his late wife Jeanne-Claude. While the pair are most famous for their ambitious grand-scale projects often involving fabric (they have wrapped a Roman wall, islands, and monuments), what Felix loves most are Christo’s drawings which are both carefully rendered and powerfully expressive. Sales of these drawings are the sole source of funding for their multi-million dollar installations. Now that’s impressive!

We are particularly excited to see that after 20 years of planning, Christo’s project for the Arkansas River has been approved. Called, “Over The River,“ the project will feature fabric panels over large stretches of the Arkansas River. Construction is expected to begin next year and there will be a two-week exhibition in August 2015.
Will you be one of the lucky ones to see it in person?
Take a look at their website - christojeanneclaude.net where you can see their many extraordinary completed and ongoing works.
The wrapping of Paris’s famous Pont Neuf is one of Felix’s favorite. Are you a fan of their work? Which is your favorite?

I was lucky enough to see Central Park a la Christo. It was magic!
Frenzee, does that experience continue to transform how you see or experience Central Park?
